What a great evening had by all.
Plenty of food and drinks
Carols performed by our wonderful band and accompanied by the Killarney Heights Public School Choir
The atmosphere was very festive and enjoyed by young and old.
Even Santa Claus made an appearance on the back of a bike and spread good cheer.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved for their hard work and look forward to 2009.
ITS OFFICIAL - WORLD RECORD

Congratulations! Your record has been approved.

The current record for "Most people running 100 metres in a 24 hour relay" is:
The most participants to carry a baton 100 m each in a 24 hour long relay is 944 at an event organised by the Killarney Heights School Community, held at the Killarney Heights Oval, Sydney, Australia, on 23 September 2007

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE WORLD RECORD RELAY:

“Thanks to everyone who came, waited, ran, jogged or walked-with-style their 100m leg of our attempt at a Guinness World Record.

A big thank you to Matt Shirvington’s dad, Phil for starting off our 100m event on behalf of his famous Australian record-holding son.

Thanks too to IGOR - the Manly Sea Eagle Mascot who flew down the track still on a victorious ‘high’ – Good Luck for this week Manly!

We also thank Hon. MP Brad Hazzard for giving his ‘dodgy’ knee a work out down the track.  We crossed live-to-air on ABC 702 Radio during the race with thanks to a nimble roving reporter ……………………. At 3.15pm we equaled the Cheshire Oaks High School, UK record of 801 participants with a leg by our oldest runner and sprightly grandfather 80yrs young  and BROKE THE RECORD with our own High School Record holder Josh Smith - to much jubilation by those still on the side lines. Thanks to the Army Reserve vehicle for providing the ‘horn-fan-fare’.  By 4.25  we had clocked up 944 individual participants! We now await official recognition from GWR  - so watch this space!

Sincere thanks to the baton change officials – Sean Sadimoen for keeping our runners coming - staff, students, parents and community for their generous support of this and all our fabulous FUNDAY events.”

Done.
